Things to know about
Landmannalaugar

First, this a must hike in Iceland. I know there is already a ton of blog about the Landmannalaugar so I am not gonna repeat again. We did a little bit different than the other blog so that could be interesting. Usually, the Landmannalaugar is 55km we did  79km in 3 days hiking, 2 nights camping. Book your bus ticket before, the easiest is do it at the Information Centre in Reykjavik.
Tips: Wear short under your hiking pants it's easier to stay dry when you cross the river.

Here is what we did (attached Strava segment with map)
Day 1: Start from Hella, took a bus to Skogar.
Skogar to Porsmork: 26km, 1,168m elevation gain
- Start at the famous Skogafoss waterfall
- Recommend to it that way so you can see all the waterfalls otherwise you will need to turn around a lot
- This hiking part was my favourite it's just unbelievable you will see 22 waterfalls along the way!
- Campground at Porsmork was the best if I had to go back in Iceland I would like to spend more time there!

Day 2
Porsmork to Altavatn: 32km, 869 elevation gain
- 3 rivers crossing (second one could be brutal if you get bad weather)
- we camped at Altavatn it was super busy and windy. I recommend to camp before at Hvanngil.
