Things to know about
Door Jam

Door Jam Trailhead Parking lot is on the 1A Highway in front of the first Exshaw Cement facility when you come from Calgary. The trail head parking lot is in the ditch opposite of the cement plant. Check out the Google Image of the start of the hike and my STRAVA map could help a lot to find the right parking lot. There is no sign at the parking lot and it could fit about 8 cars.

The trail starts at the right side of the parking lot as you look away from the cement plant. The ridge starts immediately after.

There is some parts of this hike that are a bit hard to find the route but you will be fine if you follow the ridge.

You can make this hike a loop (around 10km loop) if you decided to continue on to Loder Peak and go down on Jura Creek trail. Click on the STRAVA map below and you can see the different trails you can take. Loder Peak is 125m higher than Door Jam Mt.

This trail is a good shoulder season hike, there was still a lot of snow on May 13th, 2016 but soon you will be able to do the big loop.

You will hear the noise from the ciment plant the first 30 minutes of the hike and after you can escape it. The view at the beginning is not great as you are right in front of the ciment plant but when you get to the top it is a really good reward!

I would definitely recommend this hike if you don't have too much time, as it is a pretty short drive from Calgary or if you are looking for a less busy hike than Yamnuska
